Our impact in 2022
We're very pleased to share our Impact Report that captures the difference that we made together in 2022.
Amid the continuing impact of COVID-19, and with the intersecting challenges of climate change, conflict and a deepening cost-of-living crisis, African health systems are under immense pressure.
We believe that communities are the key to change. We work with them to identify their unique needs, co-design, and then manage solutions to their health challenges.
With your generous support for this community-led approach, last year we partnered with communities in 42 African countries to implement 193 impactful programmes.

Addressing community health challenges
Our approach recognises the interconnected factors that influence the health of individuals and communities. Our programmes were designed to holistically address health challenges in: sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), communicable and non-communicable diseases (NCDs), water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), child health and nutrition, and maternal and new-born health.
People-centred
People are at the heart of our programme design; the communities that we serve as well as the health workers who serve them.
Health workers have a crucial role in the health system—from those working at the community level to specialists working in hospital facilities.
In 2022, we reached more than 70,000 health workers across Africa with 110,000 training sessions. This emphasis on training ensures that communities have sustainable access to high-quality care.
This work would not be possible without the support of you, our amazing partners, and everyone else who has given to Amref Health Africa. Thank you so much!
