Amref is Africa’s leading healthcare charity, working primarily with women and girls to build lasting health change across sub-Saharan Africa. We work with some of the most marginalised and remote communities on the African continent, bringing deep understanding of local culture and realities on the ground to have the greatest impact.
Amref’s work focuses on four key countries and four key themes:
Maternal, New-born and Child Health
Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
Health Worker Training and Capacity-building
How We Work With Trusts and Foundations
At Amref, we know the impact our trust and foundation partners can have on our work to bring about sustainable health change for some of the most vulnerable communities in Africa. We value each of our partners’ unique contribution and will work together with you to build lasting relationships and effective partnerships. We’ll share stories of success, updates on challenges, and prompt and accurate reports about the work that you fund.
We work with a variety of different trust and foundation partners, some who have a long association with Amref and its impact in Africa, and many others who have recently become involved in our work. Many give unrestricted donations, which are absolutely essential to Amref, helping us deliver projects around the world, while others prefer to restrict their donations to a specific project.
On behalf of the communities we support across Africa, thank you to all our trust and foundation partners. Your support enables Amref to respond to urgent health needs, provide essential training and services, and to innovate by testing new technology and approaches.
Thank you to The Allan & Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust, The Pharo Foundation, The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Foundation, The Souter Charitable Trust for making this possible.
We couldn’t have done this without the support of our partners: The Dulverton Trust, The Peter Stebbings Memorial Charity, The Bryan Guinness Charitable Trust, The Sylvia Adams Charitable Trust, The Evan Cornish Foundation and The Souter Charitable Trust.
We are incredibly proud of this stunning photo series, captured pro-bono by commercial photographer Dean Bradshaw. A huge thank you to The Lord Deedes of Aldington Charitable Trust who funded this project and continue to support Amref UK to innovate in fundraising and communications.
Our Trusts and Foundations Officer Denise Mensah-Domfe is available to talk about where and how your donation will be used, as well as help identify a suitable project to benefit from your valuable support. If you would like to talk to us about what your trust or foundation can do, please contact her at email@example.com
