Open Challenge Events

Amref’s Challenge Events offer you the chance to get fit, travel the world, and have fun, all while raising money to support women, girls and their communities across Africa access their right to health.

Our fundraising team will be on hand to support you all the way, helping with fundraising, training, or simply just chatting through your plans.

Whether you want to run, cycle, jump or trek, we have an event for you!

These challenges provide an opportunity for you to push your limits, all whilst raising money for an incredible cause. We’ve put some open event suggestions below, but if you don’t see what you’re looking for, get in touch and we’ll work with you to find the event for you.

Climb Tanzania's Mount Kilimanjaro

Scale Africa’s highest peak as part of #TeamAmref and raise money for the continent’s leading health NGO. Mount Kilimanjaro's snow-capped summit rises 5,895 km above sea-level, where spectacular views, beautiful ice formations and the knowledge that you are changing the lives of local communities are the rewards for challenging yourself!

Date: 10 Day Challenge – multiple dates available: 22nd June - 2nd July; 14th-24th September 2023; 12th-22nd September 2024.
Registration fee: £325
Fundraising Target: £4,850.00

National Three Peaks Challenge

If you prefer to stay closer to home, why not take on a fast-paced and physically challenging adventure, as you take on the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales. One of Britain’s greatest outdoor challenges, the National 3 Peaks Challenge will take you to the dizzy heights of Ben Nevis (1,344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1,085m) in just 24 hours!

Dates: 3 day challenge - multiple dates available: 23rd - 25th June 2023; 18th - 20th August 2023; 25th - 27th August 2023; 8th- 10th September 2023
Registration fee: £95
Fundraising target: £860.00

London to Paris Bike Ride

Get cycling from London to Paris and take part in one of the greatest cycle experiences in Europe. Admire the breath-taking scenery as you cycle from the picturesque Kent countryside, cross the Channel and journey through small French villages until you spot the Eiffel Tower. Push yourself with this challenge and know that your efforts will help us make a difference!

Dates: Four-day challenge – multiple dates available: 19th - 23ed July 2023; 13th - 17th September 2023
Registration fee: £100
Fundraising target: £1640.00
